The Project<\/h2>\n

A 48-storey, 888-room new build student accommodation tower at 198 A’Beckett Street, Melbourne: one of the largest purpose-built student accommodation projects in Australia. The building includes a gym, outdoor rooftop terrace, communal kitchen, study areas and ground floor cafe.<\/p>\n

Our Role<\/h2>\n

Spacecraft led the interior design and architectural design management for the full building, working in close partnership with architect Hayball and builder Crema Constructions. Our scope covered FF&E procurement, wayfinding strategy and artwork development, including bespoke murals throughout communal spaces.<\/p>\n

Managing design across 888 rooms and multiple shared amenity floors required close coordination between consultants, operators and the construction team to ensure The Switch’s brand proposition was integrated seamlessly throughout the building.<\/p>\n

The Result<\/h2>\n

A completed, fully operational student accommodation building that reflects The Switch brand at every touchpoint, from individual rooms through to communal dining, co-working and outdoor spaces, delivered on programme across a complex multi-stakeholder project.<\/p>\n

We selected Spacecraft for the delivery of our portfolio of over 1,000 apartments in student accommodation, co-living and build to rent projects across Australia. Spacecraft took the time to genuinely understand our brand proposition and how that related to the architectural outcomes for the building.
